Steven Chua joined TSRC in June 2010 as an undergraduate student researcher. He is working on data analysis and on a toolkit to investigate best practices for freight transport to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through the California Assembly Bill 32 (the Governor's Global Warming Solutions Act).
Steven is a fourth year student at the University of California, Berkeley majoring in civil and environmental engineering, with emphases in transportation and environmental engineering.
Steven's previous appointment was at the Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Center as an intern. He is currently part of a biosand filter team. He also mentors inner-city Oakland children through ImpACT (Impacting Communities of Tomorrow). In his spare time, he enjoys long-distance running, cooking, baking, the outdoors, and playing ultimate frisbee.
