Margot has been with IMR since August 2009 as a graduate student researcher. Her research interests include smart growth, public transportation and the interaction of transportation and land use. Margot has been researching blueprint planning methods for California jurisdictions in order to conform to AB 32 and SB 375 requirements. She is also working on land use modeling for the Sacramento metropolitan region in order to determine the impacts of implementing blueprint plans.

Margot is currently earning Master's Degrees in Transportation Engineering and City Planning at UC Berkeley. She graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in June 2009, where she earned Bachelor's Degrees in Civil Engineering and Urban Planning. While at MIT, Margot researched transportation policy for the Federal Railroad Administration at the Volpe National Transportation Systems Center. Margot is originally from New Jersey.
