Denise Allen joined the Innovative Mobility Research group in Fall 2005. She is working on the automated speed enforcement, virtual weigh stations, and older mobility projects.
Denise's areas of interest include: examining ITS technologies to track goods movement and applying theories of criminology, including the concentric zone theory, to transportation planning.
Denise has a M.S. in Criminal Justice Administration from California State University, Sacramento and over three years of experience in policy analysis and program evaluation research. As a graduate student, Denise gained research experience working with police agencies as well as local high schools throughout the Sacramento region as part of a system-wide juvenile crime and truancy policy evaluation. In addition, she has worked on legislative policy analysis research focused on the financial implications of criminal justice policy implementation on the State of California and the Department of Corrections. Denise has a background in social psychology and as an undergraduate worked as a research assistant on several research projects, including sleep and racial profiling studies.
Denise grew up in the Bay Area and enjoys the California coast, including surfing, hiking, kayaking, and camping.
