Innovative Mobility Research (IMR)
benefits from the imagination, specialized know-how, and entrepreneurial
outlook of small start-up businesses. In turn, these small businesses
can benefit from collaboration with the California Center for Innovative
Transportation (CCIT), which provides a structure for project development
and crucial advice in addition to PATH's research expertise. IMR's
expertise in advanced technologies, public policy, program development,
and evaluation provide key data and information for start-up business
projects. For example,
ParkingCarma
is a start-up business that approached IMR for advice and subsequently
teamed for a project to test smart parking management technologies
and services.
ParkingCarma
ParkingCarma™ is a consumer-based wireless
web service that addresses parking resource issues. ParkingCarma™
is a team of technology entrepreneurs working with Caltrans and
PATH to test its unique technology through Innovative Mobility’s
Smart Parking Pilot project.
