Hachi has been involved in transportation for over seven years. He
has extensive experience running next to bicycles, jumping high, swimming in
rivers, and riding in cars. He enjoys going for walks in walkable neighborhoods
and community parks. Hachi is interested in issues pertaining to climate change
and especially effects related to warming temperatures, shrinking ice caps, and
reduced snowfall. Hachi favors the development of plug-in hybrid electric cars
and other clean technology vehicles with ample cargo space in which to ride.
Hachi still prefers efficient cars over sport utility vehicles.
Hachi currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area where he
reminds the IMR staff about his concerns regarding rising temperatures. Prior
to moving to the Bay Area, Hachi lived in the foothills of the Sierra
Mountains, where he enjoyed playing in the snow.
Hachi enjoys swimming, backpacking, hiking, visiting with his
friends (human and canine), and lounging on his bed.
